Gadgetory Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2026
Gadgetory is made by MARUE WORKS. Gadgetory does not require an account or sign-in, and it does not sync your data to a server we operate. The devices, photos, and history you add to Gadgetory are stored on your device. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it lives, and the situations — like emailing us for support, or buying Gadgetory Unlimited — where information does leave your device.
1. Information You Add to Gadgetory
Gadgetory lets you keep a record of the devices you own: things like a device's name, category, maker, model number, purchase date and price, the store you bought it from, warranty date, serial number, notes, and a history of repairs or other events. All of this is information you choose to type in yourself. It is stored in a local database on your device and is not automatically transmitted to MARUE WORKS or to any third party.
A serial number is treated a little more carefully than other fields: it is hidden by default wherever it's shown in the app, and you have to choose to reveal it.
2. Photos
You can add a photo to a device from your camera or your photo library. Gadgetory only accesses the camera or photo library when you actively choose to add a photo — it does not read your photo library in the background. A copy of the photo, resized for the app, is saved in Gadgetory's own storage area on your device. Photos are not uploaded anywhere automatically.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
Everything you add to Gadgetory — devices, history entries, photos, and the app's own settings — is stored locally on your device, in a standard on-device database and file storage. Gadgetory does not run a server, and MARUE WORKS does not have a copy of your data.
4. Backup and Restore
Gadgetory includes an optional Backup & Restore feature. When you create a backup, Gadgetory builds a single file containing your device records and photos and lets you save it using your device's own "Save" screen — the same system screen used by other apps, which may offer locations such as On My iPhone, iCloud Drive, or other storage you have set up. Gadgetory does not choose a destination for you and does not send the backup file anywhere on its own; you decide where it goes.
Restoring works the same way in reverse: you use your device's file picker to choose a Gadgetory backup file, and Gadgetory reads it to restore your devices, history, and photos. Gadgetory validates that a chosen file is actually a Gadgetory backup before using it.
5. In-App Purchases
Gadgetory Unlimited is an optional, one-time purchase that removes the free plan's device limit. In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. MARUE WORKS does not receive your payment card details or your Apple Account password — Apple processes the transaction and shares only what's needed to confirm your purchase, such as confirmation that you own Gadgetory Unlimited. See Apple's own privacy policy for how Apple handles App Store purchases.
6. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
Gadgetory does not include analytics software, advertising software, or any tracking software. It does not show ads. It does not track your activity in the app, on other apps, or on the web, and it does not share information with anyone for advertising purposes.
7. Data Sharing
MARUE WORKS does not sell your information and does not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Information is exchanged with an outside party only in these situations:
- Apple / App Store. Purchasing Gadgetory Unlimited is handled by Apple, as described in Section 5.
- Contacting support. If you email support@marueworks.com, that message — including your email address and anything you write to us — is received like any other email, so we can reply and help with your question.
- Where you choose to send a backup file. If you save a backup to a cloud storage location you already use (for example, one offered by your device's own Save screen), that file is subject to that storage provider's own terms and privacy practices, not Gadgetory's — the choice and the transfer are yours, not something Gadgetory initiates.
- If required by law. We may disclose information if legally required to do so.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Your device records, history, and photos stay on your device for as long as you keep them there. You can delete an individual device, history entry, or photo at any time from within Gadgetory. Deleting the Gadgetory app from your device removes its local data, including its database and photos, following your device's normal app-deletion behavior — Gadgetory recommends creating a backup first if you want to keep your records before deleting the app or switching devices.
If you email support@marueworks.com, that email is retained in our inbox for as long as reasonably needed to handle your request and for normal business record-keeping.
9. Children
Gadgetory is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Gadgetory itself does not automatically transmit the device records or photos you add to the app to MARUE WORKS or anyone else — that information stays on your device unless you choose to send it to us, for example by emailing support@marueworks.com. If you believe a child has contacted us by email with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if Gadgetory's features change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. If a future change is significant, we'll make reasonable efforts to call attention to it within the app.
